#5 (View the time stamp, please. I got a very pleasant wake-up call of BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH after being asleep for a while.)
Though I'm sure it isn't on purpose that all our fire "drills" end up in the wee hours of the morning. I think either some not-so-well-meaning prankster pulls the fire alarm, or someone decides he or she really really really needs popcorn at 2:30 AM. And burns it. I really think the dorms don't bother to schedule fire drills; they just happen on their own.

Sounds like the "dorm mother" or whoever is in charge needs to have a meeting with everyone.
ReplyDeleteLet's teach the finer points of microwave use and making popcorn:
1. Each microwave is different from another. Some are hotter, some cook faster. *Didn't you know? They all have unique personalities.*
2. Popcorn MUST be watched/listened to at all times when cooking. *Seriously, does it talk like Rice Krispies do? Better start listening I guess.*
3. The "popcorn" setting on microwaves rarely gets it right. *I think microwaves get a kick out of burning popcorn. It's like their twisted little game.*
4. If you (insert name here) must fix popcorn at all hours, make sure you don't burn it. *Please for all that is good and holy, please don't burn any more popcorn.*
- Granted, this will prove to be rather difficult with so many people in one dorm. -
It's best to find some humor in it, since this probably isn't the last time the fire alarms will go off because of a burnt snack.
(Now I think my lengthy comment needs to become a post for me.) ;)
xo - Hollis the wise... um, experienced popcorn burner/popper.
Did you smell popcorn? Oh, yeah. You aren't the one to ask. I'll bet they just wanted to get the highest percentage of participation. Where do you all go? Was it *all* of the Slusher complex, or just the wing? I wonder what the Slusher tower folks do. Do they all have to walk downstairs and then walk back up? Even if they allow them to use the elevators to return to the nth floor, it would be a long wait.
ReplyDeleteSorry you are having so many fire drills. Maybe that will be the last one until November. We have to have one a week for the first four weeks and one per month each month afterwards.
2:30 a.m. is still not a good time.
